The CW’s Roswell reboot has officially added Michael Trevino to its cast!
According to Entertainment Weekly, Vampire Diaries alumn Michael Trevino is officially heading back to The CW where he’ll co-star in the network’s upcoming Roswell reboot.
Based off of the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz, the new series will find Trevino playing Kyle Valenti.
As fans of both the book series and the hit WB/UPN series will undoubtedly know, Kyle is the son of the town sheriff.
In the original show, both Kyle and his father posed as a bit of a risk for Max, Isobel (Lily Cowles) and Michael (Michael Vlamis), all of whom were trying to keep the fact that they were secretly aliens posing as teenage humans under wraps.
The new iteration of the show will focus on an adult Liz (played by Jeanine Mason)— a biomedical researcher and the daughter of undocumented immigrants who finds herself moving back to her old hometown of Roswell, New Mexico.
While back in town, she runs into her old high school crush, Max (played in the reboot by Originals alumn Nathan Parsons), who’s grown up to be a policeman, who’s hiding the fact that he’s secretly an alien.
In addition to marking Trevino’s return to The CW, his role on Roswell will also serve as a reunion of sorts between the actor and Vampire Diaries showrunner Julie Plec.
We learned previously that Plec will direct the pilot, and will additionally stay on to executive produce the series alongside showrunner Carina Adly MacKenzie.
