See the promotional stills released for the Merlin episode airing on Saturday, titled “A Lesson in Vengeance.” Guinevere has had a bit of a wardrobe change!

These four images were released by The BBC. They show Gwen wearing her ominous dark cape of evilness, and we also see candids of Sir Leon, Merlin and Gaius.

In the last episode, “The Dark Tower,” we not only lost Sir Elyan, but we may have also lost Guinevere – at least for a while. Morgana used mandrake roots to break down the Queen’s psyche, and convince her that she couldn’t trust any of the people she used to call her friends.

As the promo shows, Gwen has returned to Camelot to help Morgana carry out her plan to kill Arthur:

Is Arthur dead?! Surely not. But will Merlin be able to help Gwen snap out of this state she’s in, or will she only deteriorate further and join Morgana permanently, betraying Arthur like Queen Guinevere did in the legends?

The episode description reads:

Darkness steals into the very heart of Camelot as Morgana and her puppet queen hatch a sinister plan to murder the king. But when stable hand Tyr Seward becomes caught in the crossfire, he threatens to ruin everything… As the plot thickens and reaches its deadly climax, can a suspicious Merlin unravel the truth before it is too late?

Merlin 5×07 “A Lesson in Vengeance” airs Saturday at 20:00 GMT on BBC One.
