Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is embarking on her first solo charity project, which will be a cookbook to benefit victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.
It’s no secret that the former Suits actress and current Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is a woman passionate about helping those in need. Upon her marriage to Prince Harry, the couple made it very clear that the two hoped to work both separately and together for charities that were nearest to their hearts. In the Duchess’ first solo charity excursion since joining the Royal Family, Meghan Markle is working on a project that brings together several areas that she is passionate about–empowering women, bringing communities together, and the power of food.
The Duchess is helping promote and has written the foreword to a cookbook, called Together: Our Community Cookbook. The book is filled with recipes from women who started the Hubb Kitchen, a place originally founded to provide food, community, and comfort for those displaced by the Grenfell Tower fire. Proceeds from this book will not only help share the delicious recipes from the women behind Hubb Kitchen, but it will also raise funds to allow Hubb to provide meals seven days a week rather than only two days a week.
Kensington Palace released a video trailer for the cookbook that explained Duchess Meghan Markle’s passion for Together, and the stories of the women behind Hubb Kitchen.

This new cookbook is a beautiful example of how communities can come together in the wake of tragedy. The women of Hubb Kitchen come from many different ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds, and have made a place where everyone is welcome and treated like family. We can’t think of a better project for Meghan Markle to support in her first solo charity effort since her marriage to Prince Harry.
If you’d like to get a copy of Together, you can head to the Royal Foundation to learn more about Hubb Kitchen and pick up a copy for yourself.
