Bret Easton Ellis, the author of American Psycho and The Rules of Attraction, is the latest name out of Hollywood to throw jabs at the hit show. While some artists have made their feelings towards Glee clear – for legitimate reasons – Ellis took the ignorant route.
Ellis decided to hop on his Twitter account and post this opinion:
I like the idea of Glee but why is it that every time I watch an episode I feel like I’ve stepped into a puddle of HIV?
After surely getting plenty of feedback about that statement, Ellis then responded with:
No, I wasn’t drunk last night. I was watching Chris Colfer singing, um, “Le Jazz Hot” and felt like I had suddenly come down with the hivs.
Ellis has continued to talk smack about Glee, but in a more civil way. Matthew Morrison, one of the stars of the hit show, responded to the comments by Ellis in an interview with E! News.
Who’s that? – You know what, that means the show is good if people have not-nice things to say — and amazing things to say. It keeps people talking, you know? That’s going to be a part of the show.
Will Ellis continue to trash talk Glee with absurd comments? Do you care?
