Infinity War, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and bringing together almost the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (as well as introducing some new players), is marked as the end of an era for the Avengers as we know and love them.
The first trailer certainly suggests both epic action and heartfelt farewells. It was released on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning, and you can watch it here:
Ahead of the trailer release we also got the first poster, revealed (accidentally?) by Tom Holland:
The poster comes in three different variations, all showing the Avengers “A.”
The plot synopsis reads:
“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”
