Daisy Ridley has found her next leading role in the upcoming adaptation of The Marsh King’s Daughter.
According to Deadline, Daisy Ridley has officially signed on to star in director Neil Burger’s upcoming adaptation of The Marsh King’s Daughter.
Based on the book by author Karen Dionne, The Marsh King’s Daughter is described as a psychological-thriller, and will find Ridley taking on the role of Helena.
Helena (Daisy Ridley) is a woman who seems to be living an ordinary life on the surface, but she’s actually harboring a dark secret. It turns out, her father is the infamous Marsh King– a man who kept both her and her mother captive for years out in the wilderness.
But Helena’s past soon comes back to haunt her when her father escapes from prison. It’s then that Helena finds herself forced to confront her past, and face the demons that still haunt her.
Behind the camera, the forthcoming adaptation features a script written by The Revenant scribe Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith.
Production on The Marsh King’s Daughter is set to kick off later this summer out in Canada, though there’s still no word with regards to when we can expect to see the adaptation hit theaters.
Fans of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker vet can catch Daisy Ridley next starring opposite Tom Holland in Chaos Walking. The sci-fi adventure flick is set to premiere on March 5.
