The latest trailer for ‘The Lion King’ will give you chills

Disney released a new trailer for its upcoming live-action film, The Lion King, and the one-minute clip will absolutely give you chills.

Disney is giving a lot of beloved childhood cartoons a second life by creating live-action versions based on classic cartoons. Movies like Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and Beauty and the Beast have all seen a whole new resurgence as new and old fans alike flock to these films. The Lion King is another cartoon classic that is about to get new life with a stunning, live-action rendering.

Trailers for this movie have, thus far, been pretty brief, and the latest trailer is no exception. However, what the latest Lion King trailer lacks in length is totally made up for by being completely visually stunning paired with the film’s iconic, moving score.

The cast for The Lion King is insane, with talent bursting from every pore of this film. With actors like Chiwetel Ejiofor, Donald Glover, Beyoncé, James Earl Jones, Eric André, John Oliver, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and much, much more, this movie is going to be a powerhouse when it hits theaters.

Jon Favreau is directing this new version of The Lion King, and unlike the work he did directing The Jungle Book, this film will largely be comprised of an entirely CGI cast as opposed to a mixture of humans and animals. Though the animals are digitally rendered, they are made to look incredibly realistic, and paired with the backdrop of the African desert, Favreau’s Lion King makes it feel like we’ve been dropped in the Sahara and are watching the lives of real lions, hyenas, monkeys, and more unfold before our very eyes.

This new trailer packs an emotional punch, and will give a huge nostalgia wave to anyone who grew up watching the cartoon. You can watch the new era of The Lion King for yourself and listen to the immensely talented cast in action when the live-action film hits theaters on July 19.
