The Link’s Awakening limited edition will give players a better look at the goings on of the game’s Koholint Island.
Nintendo announced the Western release for the Link’s Awakening limited edition, dubbing it the “Dreamer Edition” of the Nintendo Switch remake.
The art book that comes with the Dreamer Edition will have pictures of the game’s locale, along with concept art and renders of characters, items, and maps. Unfortunately, Nintendo hasn’t graced us with a sneak peek at the inside of the 120 page book quite yet, but we can imagine that the contents inside are just as interesting as the art books were for games like Super Mario Oddysey.

The European Link’s Awakening limited edition comes with a bit more, as it is not only packaged in a nifty-looking box, but also comes with a beautiful Game Boy steelbook. The steelbook is decorated with a print of the opening select screen of the original Link’s Awakening title. The art book cover has a different look, with the European copy sporting a sleek, black cover as opposed to the West’s, which dons the game’s box art.

The Dreamer Edition references the game’s plot, wherein Link shipwrecks on the mysterious Koholint Island, and wakes up on a beach in a dream-like state. The entire game feels very dreamy and lofty, with enemies from the Mario series making appearances, amongst other oddities of the game’s off-beat style.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Dreamer Edition releases for the Nintendo Switch on September 20, 2019, and retails for $69.99. The special edition is available for preorder at Best Buy and Gamestop.
