Find out how long we’ve got left to wait for The LEGO Movie sequel and the highly anticipated spin-off LEGO Batman.
Warner Bros. has updated its LEGO franchise film release dates, and although they’re still a long way off, it’s nice knowing exactly how long the wait will be.
The Ninjago film has been pushed back from 2016 to 2017, which means our next LEGO movie will now be LEGO Batman.

The Batman-centric spin-off of The LEGO Movie (which still doesn’t have an official title) will hit cinemas on February 10, 2017. It stars Will Arnett as Batman, with Chris McKay set to direct.
Ninjago will then be released on September 22, 2017.
Finally, The LEGO Movie Sequel isn’t set for release until May 18, 2018, four years after the first movie.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are returning to write the sequel, but Rob Schrab (Community) will be taking over as director.
Domestic distribution president Dan Fellman says, “These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come.”
We’re still waiting on Billion Brick Race, the LEGO movie which Jason Segel and Drew Pearce will be directing. But considering the current LEGO line-up, we probably can’t expect to see it until 2019 at the earliest.
