If you thought Legion season 1 messed with your head, just wait until you get a look at what’s coming in season 2.
Remember Legion? It’s that little television show about David Holler, aka Legion, aka Professor X’s son. Season 1 tried to answer one very simple question: is David crazy or is he an extremely powerful mutant? The truth is it’s probably a little bit of both.
By the end of season 1, the Shadow King left David’s body and hopped into Oliver Bird’s. Luckily for us, Aubrey Plaza is still involved in the series and will be returning as one of the many forms of the Shadow King.
Or will she?
Two sneak peeks at Legion season 2 have been released, though don’t expect to glean many answers from the videos below. The first one is uncomfortably disturbing, while the second ensures us that we still have no idea what’s going on.
Legion lost as many fans as it gained with its mysterious and confusing narrative. The fact that David is an unreliable narrator is the entire point of the series, but how long can we go without knowing the truth about what we’re seeing? If we can’t trust anything we’re watching, then what’s the point?
I did love Legion season 1, and I’m eager to rewatch it ahead of the season 2 premiere on April 3. It’s one of the few shows on television that can get away with doing pretty much anything (that song-and-dance number was a masterpiece), but I hope it knows where to draw the line.
