I’m already having trouble imagining my Thursdays without new drama from the Salvatore School and all my Legacies faves.
It’s always hard to know how to continue fangirling/fanboying after a season finale airs. I mean, sure there’s all that theorizing and speculating on what comes next, but since there aren’t any new episodes to get excited for, how do I survive the wait for more?
You’re in luck, because there are a handful of ways to survive the hiatus that will help to quench the thirst for more Legacies.
Let’s start with doing a deep dive and re-watching those that came before
You’ll notice that I didn’t say, “rewatching Legacies,” and that’s because there’s a longer, more involved option for you to try, too. I mean, sure, re-watching Legacies is totally an option. Especially if, like me, you DVR-ed and saved all the episodes so that you could watch them any time, but there is another option that could pay off in the long run.
Re-watching, or watching for the first time, the later seasons of The Vampire Diaries. Hell, you could re-watch the entire series, but the Gemini coven and the most important seasons for Legacies viewers would probably be those final three seasons.
Those are where we meet Kai Parker and Dr. Jo (aka Josette) Laughlin. We meet a few more Gemini coven members, too, but I’d say the two most important to our purposes are the set of twins that never merged… at least not properly. And you get to see the Saltzman twins as toddlers!
And yes, you’ll probably want to watch The Originals, too, especially to see just how much Klaus loved and was dedicated to his daughter. Be wary of the finale though. It didn’t leave everyone with the most fuzzy feelings.
Re-watching ‘Legacies’
And yes, we should absolutely be re-watching Legacies. Especially in all the legal ways. You see, there’s no greater way to prove that a show has a dedicated fanbase than showing the network with clicks.
This is spectacularly easy for us because Legacies season 1 debuts on Netflix, in its entirety, this Friday, April 5th! So get your binge-watching snacks and blankets ready and watch the whole splendid adventure again from start to finish!
Hop on Twitter, join a dedicated Facebook group, and find other fans to talk to
Maybe you have a best friend who loves the show as much as you do and you can debate that ending and what is next for Hope Mikaelson and the Salvatore School any time you’d like, but for those that don’t have a ton of fan-friends hopping around their real life, there are tons of communities online.
Whether its wading through hashtags, joining a FB group, finding a thread on Reddit, or cruising Tumblr, there are a million places on the internet to find people who love this show as much as you do. They will be happy to hear all your theories about Malivore and Hope and how the hell we’re going to get things back to normal.
If you don’t know where to start, give the #Legacies a try and see if you can find any fans that have started conversations about things you are interested in. Or join in the conversations regarding any of your favorite couples with their hastags (ie #Handon #Posie #Hosie).
Plus, it’s nice to share memes of our favorite Legacies season 1 moments and moan about the long wait for more episodes together.
Write or read some fanfiction
Fanfiction is another great way to spend some time in the world of Legacies without having new episodes to watch. There’s fanfiction about EVERYTHING, so go out and find the best stories about Josie and Lizzie and Penelope and MG and Hope and Landon and Rafael and everyone. And make sure to share them once you find them! Here’s just one collection of stories you can peruse, but there are surely tons more out there!
Or, if you have a story within you that you want the world to experience, write your own fanfiction. And then make sure to come back and mention it in the comments section because I will probably want to read it.
Or write us an article about the show!
Have you ever noticed the call to action we have on our posts right above the comment section? It looks a little something like this:
We have that because want to hear from you! If you have a crazy, well-thought-out fan theory you want to propose, write it up for us! If you want to cook up something about all the spells used so far on Legacies, go for it. We love seeing well-written articles from our fans. Just click on the link at the bottom of this page (or any Hypable article) and get writing!
We want to hear your thoughts on this topic!
