Sitcom mastermind Chuck Lorre and actress Kathy Bates have announced a new series on Netflix called Disjointed starring the AHS regular.
According to Netflix, Disjointed is “a workplace comedy starring Kathy Bates as a lifelong advocate for legalization who’s finally living her dream as the owner of an L.A.–area cannabis dispensary. Joining her are three budtenders, her twenty-something son and a deeply troubled security guard. All of them are more or less constantly high.”
The series will be written/produced by Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Mike & Molly, Two and a Half Men) and David Javerbaum (The Daily Show, An Act of God). Season 1 will consist of 20 half-hour episodes.
Netflix has spent the past few years adding a huge array of original series to its lineup. Notably, this’ll be Chuck Lorre’s first stab at a Netflix show — he’s stayed loyal to CBS over the past decade. Will he be able to create a Big Bang Theory-sized hit for Netflix?
