Josh Duhamel could soon be joining Jennifer Lopez in the upcoming action comedy, Shotgun Wedding.
According to Deadline, actor Josh Duhamel is currently in early talks to take on the leading man role for Shotgun Wedding starring Jennifer Lopez.
If he boards, Duhamel would be taking over the role originally held by Armie Hammer who was originally announced to be starring in the action comedy when it was first announced back in October.
Hammer, however, chose to exit the project just last week following fallout from a social media scandal. Specifically, the actor started trending on social media after a series of graphic, sexually explicit Instagram direct messages that were allegedly written by Hammer himself started making the rounds online.
In a statement addressing the messages in question, Hammer revealed that he’d chosen to drop out of the Lionsgate feature film, noting that the studio fully supported his decision to do so.
“I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that,” said Hammer via the statement.
Shotgun Wedding centers on Grace (Jennifer Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel)— a couple who round up their respective families so they can have a destination wedding.
Things take a bit of a turn when both start suffering from a serious case of cold feet. But backing out of their impending nuptials is the least of the worries— especially after their entire wedding party winds up being taken hostage. With their families in danger, Grace and Tom must set their differences aside if they wish to stand a chance at saving their loved ones from the predicament they wind up in.
