Jordan Peele has officially been announced as the narrator for CBS’ reboot of the television series The Twilight Zone.
It was announced last year that Jordan Peele’s production company, Monkeypaw Productions, would be bringing us The Twilight Zone, rebooting the seminal science fiction/horror series for CBS. However, we didn’t know who would be taking over in the role most famously held by Rod Serling. Who would be the individual narrating each episode and welcoming us, ominously, into The Twilight Zone?

In a brand new teaser trailer, CBS let us in on who would be narrating the highly anticipated reboot. As Variety reports, it turns out that our new narrator is going to be Jordan Peele himself.
It’s a perfect pick, honestly. The Twilight Zone wasn’t just a show that was iconic in its creative, disturbing, engaging, and frightening storytelling, but what made it such a lasting show was the way it used science fiction and horror to discuss societal issues happening at the time. The television show wasn’t just a mindless journey into scary or out-of-this-world stories, they were social commentaries.
And that kind of storytelling, as we saw in Jordan Peele’s hit horror film Get Out, is something that Peele specializes in. In fact, Get Out, and even his comedic work on Key & Peele, have shown us that he is great at using unexpected methods like horror and comedy to discuss social issues in a creative way that gets audiences thinking and talking. Because of that, he’s going to be the perfect individual to step into Rod Serling’s famous shoes as our guide to The Twilight Zone.
The Twilight Zone and its host Jordan Peele will premiere on CBS All Access in 2019, though no official premiere date has been released yet.
