Netflix’s upcoming King Henry V film has added another big name actor to its star-studded cast.
According to Variety, Loving star Joel Edgerton has officially signed on to star opposite Timothee Chalamet in Netflix’s The King.
Prior to stepping in front of the camera for the upcoming Shakespeare Adaptation, Edgerton was already set to have a huge hand in bringing the Netflix original to life.
The actor and his long-time collaborator David Michod had already signed on to co-write the script for the upcoming adaptation. In addition to penning the script for The King, Michod, who previously helmed War Machine, is also serving as director on the project.
Edgerton will be playing Falstaff in the upcoming movie, which is based off of Shakespeare’s plays Henry IV and Henry V.
Meanwhile, Chalamet will play the young, disgraced Prince Henry V who inherits the crown. Falstaff is of particular significance given that he’s considered Henry’s one true friend and helps the young royal on his way to learning what it means to be a king.
In addition to Chalamet and Edgerton, The King is also set to star Robert Pattinson and Christian Navarro.
Production on the project is set to start in Europe this June, and the film is set to premiere via Netflix sometime in 2019.
