J.K. Rowling and Lin-Manuel Miranda obsessed over the sixth book in the Harry Potter series over the past 24 hours, and the whole world got to witness their chat (and maybe cry from joy).

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is no closet Harry Potter fan. The writer and performer frequently tweets about his love for J.K. Rowling’s fantasy series. In fact, he says that the professionally taped Hamilton is sitting deep within a Gringotts vault.

Lin-Manuel Miranda spent his lunch break on Wednesday sharing “POP CULTURE EVENTS FROM WHICH I HAVE STILL NOT RECOVERED, MANY YEARS LATER,” including a live “Smooth Criminal” lean by Michael Jackson, Shakira’s “La Tortura” video, and a certain part of J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:

Rowling took notice of Manuel’s shout out on Thursday:

And Manuel responded:

By “the beginning,” Lin is referring to Chapter 4 of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, in which Dumbledore asks Harry to keep his wand “at the ready” in case of an attack while they make their way to Slughorn’s home:

“If there is an attack,” said Dumbledore,” I give you permission to use any counterjinx or curse that might occur to you. However, I do not think you need worry about being attacked tonight.”

“Why not, sir?”

“You are with me,” said Dumbledore simply. “This will do, Harry.”

Then, in Chapter 26 of Half-Blood Prince, this moment:

“It’s going to be all right, sir,” Harry said over and over again, more worried by Dumbledore’s silence than he had been by his weakened voice. “We’re nearly there… I can Apparate us both back… Don’t worry….”

“I am not worried, Harry,” said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. “I am with you.”

Dumbledore believes he’s finished preparing Harry for what’s ahead, and Albus now trusts The Chosen One with his life.

It’s also interesting that Rowling thinks Half-Blood Prince gets overshadowed. She’s right, in my opinion! Deathly Hallows may be the last book with major moments, but Half-Blood Prince was a very important step towards reaching the end.
