Jessica Jones season 2 is just around the corner, and a new trailer from Netflix shows our titular hero grappling with her past and her future.
The first season of Jessica Jones blew fans away and made us all instantly fall in love with the Private Investigator behind Alias Investigations. The show not only centered around a female superhero, but it showed women in a way that television and films often don’t while also highlighting what it’s like to be a survivor of trauma and abuse in a very relatable way.

So it’s no surprise that Netflix was quick to renew the smash series, and we finally get to catch back up with our friends at Alias when the show returns to Netflix on March 8. The streaming service released a new trailer for the new season, intermingling some scenes from season 1 with new footage from season 2.
In the latest trailer for the show, we see Jessica giving a quick rundown of her backstory to her fellow attendees in anger management. It doesn’t seem like her therapy is working for her just yet, however, as she tells her story to her anger management group while also low-key breaking the wall with a rubber ball. When she gets home, she responds with a curt, “still angry,” when Malcolm asks how anger management went that day.
Of course, we can’t really blame her. After all of the craziness that Jessica went through in season 1, it makes perfect sense that she’s starting off the second season in a bit of a darker place.
This season is going to be delving more into Jessica’s past, shedding a bit more light on the death of her family, and the subsequent medical experiments Jessica endured after the crash that gave her superpowers. We also know that the super-dead Kilgrave is going to be coming back in season 2, but we don’t know specifically in what capacity. Of course, with Jessica working to sort out the horrors from her past, it makes sense that Kilgrave would rear his monstrous head in the form of a flashback or as a voice in Jessica’s head.
Jessica has a lot to sort out in the coming season, but we’re excited to see her get some answers about her past while kicking some bad guy ass. March 8th can’t get here quickly enough!
