Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston will co-star in an untitled scripted series about the production of morning TV shows in New York City.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively that Jennifer Aniston is returning to the small screen — more than 10 years after Friends ended — to co-star with her on-screen sister Reese Witherspoon in an untitled series from Michael Ellenberg.
The show is set to explore the world of morning TV production, and the New York City media scene. It sounds like it might be along the lines of other ‘insider’ Hollywood series like Studio 60, The Comeback — which both ironically also starred Friends alums — and Patrick Stewart’s short-lived Blunt Talk.

House of Cards‘ Jay Carson is set to write the pilot script, and will serve as executive producer on the project. Also on board as executive producers are Harry Potter’s Steve Kloves, as well as Witherspoon and Aniston themselves.
No word on how this project, which is expected to be shopped around at HBO and other streaming services, including Netflix, will affect a potential second season of Witherspoon’s recent hit series Big Little Lies.
Also no word on whether Christina Applegate is available to complete the Green sister trio, but a girl can dream!
