The first trailer for Drew Pearce’s new film, Hotel Artemis, doesn’t just look like a fun cinematic adventure, but it’s also a star-studded affair.
Set in a near-future, utterly war-torn version of Los Angeles, Hotel Artemis tells the story of a woman, called the Nurse, who runs a members-only emergency room/safe zone/hotel exclusively for criminals. And while the basic plot might be giving you some John Wick vibes, the first trailer for this movie looks so utterly badass that we can’t help but be fascinated by this one.
Obviously, what makes Hotel Artemis fascinating isn’t just that it is a futuristic action flick, but it is packed with some amazing star talent. Not only can the film boast legends like Jodie Foster and Jeff Goldblum, but the cast also includes some of our favorite actors like Zachary Quinto, Sterling K. Brown, Dave Bautista, Jenny Slate, Charlie Day, and Sofia Boutella. It’s a film so packed to the gills with talent that you can’t help but want to see this movie in theaters.
And sure, the idea of a criminals-only hotel with a series of strict rules is a serious throwback to John Wick, we’re not ready to write off this movie as a cheap grab at the Wick fandom. Not only are we certain there has to be something special to have pulled in so much great talent, but John Wick itself ended up being a huge surprise for moviegoers, so we’re not ready to write this one off just yet, especially after one teaser.
Luckily, we won’t have to wait too long to get the full story on this one. Hotel Artemis hits theaters on June 8.
