Nineties kids, rejoice, because Jackée Harry has said the Sister, Sister reboot is officially going to happen.
There are a lot of reboots happening these days. From Fuller House to Will & Grace, and even the forthcoming Roseanne revival, a lot of our old nineties/early aughts faves are coming back to the small screen. So with all of this talk of old shows coming back to life, it wasn’t a surprise that the comedy Sister, Sister starring Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Tamera Mowry-Housley started having revival rumors spread about the show.

However, this seemed to be a lot more than rumors. In 2015 Mowry-Housley said that they were working on a reboot, and that they’d likely bring the show back to respond to the intense fan demand. Then in July of 2017, Mowry-Housley said she and her sister were meeting with producers and writers to move towards bringing a reboot to air.
All of the statements from the Mowry twins made it seem like the show was still very much in development and still on unstable ground. However on January 16, Jackée Harry took to the Steve Harvey Show to state that the Sister, Sister revival was indeed happening.
Now, we should state that this isn’t as official as a network commitment. Fans of Will & Grace will remember when Leslie Jordan confirmed a Will & Grace revival shortly after the Will & Grace web short, “Vote, Honey,” was released.
His statement was quickly shot down by NBC and the show’s major cast, but as we know, the show did indeed come back to television. So even if Harry is jumping the gun with this statement like Jordan did, we have to admit that Harry’s announcement sounds incredibly promising.
