Considering that Donald Trump has already been compared to Hitler, J.K. Rowling’s statement that he is worse than Voldemort shouldn’t surprise anyone.
It seems like the world is finally ready to stop humoring Donald Trump, after he has taken an extreme, hostile stance towards the Muslim community.
In a violently hateful move, the presidential hopeful has released a press release stating that all Muslims should be banned from the U.S.
The press release reads: “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”
On Monday, Trump stood by his statement, saying that the U.S. had no choice but to take this course of action. “We can be politically correct and be stupid, but it’s going to get worse and worse,” he said (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Understandably (and thankfully), most people are outraged at his prejudice, with one U.S. newspaper boldly proclaiming him “the new furor”:

And J.K. Rowling, who based her Harry Potter villain Voldemort on Hitler, clearly agrees with that sentiment.
How horrible. Voldemort was nowhere near as bad. https://t.co/hFO0XmOpPH

This is far from the first time J.K. Rowling has used her Twitter account as a political platform. Indeed, the Harry Potter series is full of expressions of her own political leanings and ideologies.
We’re glad to see J.K. Rowling take a stance against Trump, just as many public figures and news outlets — including The Huffington Post — have done recently.
