We’ve got some hints for what you can expect during this week’s Into the Badlands season 3, episode 4, “Blind Cannibal Assassins”!
Into the Badlands 3×04 is one you definitely won’t want to miss. Not only does it step up the action in a big way, but it also continues to move the plot forward, with some interesting developments taking place.
Ahead of it airing this Sunday, we have some exciting teasers for you.
1. Old meets new
Some of our old favorites will be crossing paths with a couple new characters this episode. One of these meetings has been a long time coming, but another one might be a bit unexpected. Into the Badlands season 3 has been moving at a brisk pace so far, with some events happening much sooner than I expected. This trend continues in episode 4, which leads me to believe the creators of the show have a whole lot more story to tell.
Sunny’s guilt
Sunny continues to struggle with the role he has played in being a part of the tradition of violence in the Badlands. This will, undoubtedly, come full circle when he meets up with M.K. by season’s end and the two figure out if Sunny really did kill M.K.’s mother. Until then, however, Sunny has plenty on his mind. In “Blind Cannibal Assassins,” we see a young Sunny make a choice that will directly affect the situation in which he finds himself in present time.
Gaius vs. Everybody
Lewis Tan debuts this week as Gaius Chau. His character is a wonderful combination of cool and deadly. We learn a bit more about what he’s been up to in the Badlands, as well as what kind of relationship he has with his sister. What may be most interesting, however, is his battle against Castor. When I spoke with Sherman Augustus last week, both he and Lewis Tan had high praise for this episode. Though I didn’t have room to share it in the interview, I can give it to you now:
“The Gaius/Castor fight scene is off the hook. You’re gonna love it,” Augustus said.
Tan adds, “That’s me vs. Dean-Charles Chapman, and everybody loves that one. It’s pretty crazy.”
Lydia in action
Remember how Orla Brady said Lydia “dispatches a few people to oblivion” this season? You can expect to see a little bit of that in episode 4. Lydia puts Sunny’s blade to good use, and it’s clear that the former baroness is quite capable of taking care of herself. The big fights might be what’s flashy and eye-catching, but it’s little moments like these that keep me interested.
