Hypable’s BattleShips: ‘Sherlock’ wins!

After two months of voting and campaigning it’s clear who Hypable’s Ship of the Year is! Congratulations to Sherlock and Molly!

It’s been one heck of a wild ride for Sherlock and Molly, otherwise known as Sherlolly, but all of the campaigning and voting has paid off. We’re proud to announce that until the next BattleShips competition, Sherlolly is officially Hypable’s Ship of the Year!

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, since only a couple of weeks ago we told you why Molly Hooper is just plain awesome.

In fact, we have a few shippers on staff who were rooting for Sherlock to take the prize. Says Laura Byrne-Cristiano, “I have to admit it, up until this current series I wasn’t a fan of the Sherlolly ship at all. The reason I’m fan now is the character growth of both Sherlock and Molly.”

Laura continued, “Molly is way less desperate and insecure than she was in the first two series. She’s still attracted to Sherlock, but it’s not stopping her from giving him a look when he’s being an ass. She’s also not desperately throwing herself at him.”

“Sherlock, after his faked death, has had to come to terms with what his actions have cost people. Not just John, but Molly, Mrs. Hudson and even himself. Despite Sherlock not wanting to spend time on niceties all the time, he seems more aware that he’s actually fallible, and others’ opinion matter not just because of valuable information, but because they matter as people.”

“I think the ship is still developing, and that’s what I really like about it. it’s growing as the characters grow. You can see the potential there.”

Congratulations to all the ships who participated in this year’s tournament, and to all the shippers for keeping the entire tournament civilized and without an insane amount of ship wars in the comments – we’re so proud!

Hypable’s BattleShips will be taking a break for the foreseeable future, but we’ll be sure to let you know when it comes back around.
