ABC’s How to Get Away With Murder has set two new recurring cast members for the show’s final season — one of whom fans will already be familiar with.
According to Deadline, actress Anne-Marie Johnson has officially signed on to appear in the hit ABC drama’s final season in a recurring role.
On How To Get Away With Murder, Johnson will be taking on the role of Kenda Strauss — who also happens to be Michaela Pratt’s (Aja Naomi) defense attorney. Currently, no other details have been given with regards to the character, so it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see what Kenda brings to the courtroom come season 6.
In addition to Johnson’s casting announcement, Thursday (March 26) also brought word that actress Cicely Tyson will be returning for the series’ sixth and final season.
As Murder fans know all too well, Tyson plays Annalise’s (Viola Davis) mother, Ophelia Harkness, on the hit drama series.
Viewers first met Ophelia Harkness all the way back in the series’ first season where it was revealed that she’d recently been diagnosed with dementia.
Ophelia has popped up in every season for a few episodes since we were first introduced to her. Because of that, Ophelia’s presence in the series’ sixth and final season likely won’t come as too much of a shock to fans who’ve been diligently keeping up. Nevertheless, it’s great to get official confirmation of her return.
How To Get Away With Murder returns for its final round of six episodes beginning Thursday, April 2 on ABC.
