We are building to one hell of a mid-season finale for How to Get Away with Murder season 3. This week’s penultimate episode definitely didn’t pull any punches.
As we near the final episode of How to Get Away with Murder that we will get before the holiday break, things are spiraling out of control for the Keating Five and company. Even more so for Annalise who seems to have lost grip on reality.
Check out the highlights from How to Get Away with Murder season 3, episode 8, “No More Blood,” and feel free to take a few guesses where the story will go from here.
‘How to Get Away with Murder’ season 3, episode 8 review
From zero to hero
Not only is Frank still appearing in How to Get Away with Murder season 3, but he is also finally back in the house where it happens. It turns out, getting him and Annalise on the same page was as easy as giving Annalise a problem she couldn’t solve without him. She doesn’t hesitate (too long) to beg for his help in figuring out Charles Mahoney’s alibi. And he then quickly acts oh-so-Frankish and does something that has us all questioning his sanity.
Coliver is on… and off again.
After Thomas’ rejection of Oliver in the last episode, we saw our favorite HTGAWM couple coupling again. We got a bit more of that in “No More Blood.” We saw them joke around and bond a little before eventually fighting over why they split up in the first place, and it all ended with Connor feeling more than a little insulted by Oliver.
We would sacrifice all hope of these two getting on the same page again if it wasn’t for what Oliver said in the present day storyline when they finally get to ask Bonnie some questions about what happened with the fire.
Wes’ day in court
Wes has testify in court that he saw Charles Mahoney across the street from where his father was killed. He didn’t actually see Mahoney there, but he confessed that he did in his deposition, and now he must do so on the stand. Only problem? Charles Mahoney has an alibi. Enter Frank and his creepy stalking skills. Once they find and neutralize the alibi, Wes Gibbons is free to perjure himself with impunity.
And back to zero again
The episode wraps up with Frank standing in Annalise’s house trying to prove that he will do anything to make her stop hating him. He is responsible for the death of her baby, and she will never forgive him. Frank still thinks there’s room for forgiveness and redemption. He puts a pistol to his chin and offers his life in exchange for Annalise’s forgiveness. He believes this will make it right.
Enter Bonnie who isn’t having any of this. She immediately begins begging Frank not to do it. That this isn’t what Annalise wants and that he will not truly be helping her if he takes his own life. We get choruses of “Do it, Frank!” from Annalise alongside refrains of “Don’t do it! Please don’t do this!” from Bonnie. We are left with no resolution this week, as if that doesn’t burn.
Who isn’t under the sheet?
We learn in the final moments of this episode where Connor has been in the house fire storyline. That’s right folks, Connor can be crossed off the “potentially-still-under-the-sheet” list. He is safe and sound… in Thomas’ bed. Did he do this to get back at Oliver for hurting him? Is he trying to keep Thomas and Oliver apart? Hopefully we get these answers and a whole lot more in next week’s mid-season finale of How to Get Away with Murder, titled, “Who’s Dead?”
