HBO Max’s Green Lantern series has found one of its helmers in Lee Toland Krieger.
According to Deadline, Lee Toland Krieger has been tapped to direct the first two episodes of an all new Green Lantern series coming soon to HBO Max.
The series was written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Seth Grahame-Smith. Like Berlanti (who serves as a producer on a slew of CW series— including the network’s popular -verse shows), Krieger has some pretty significant ties to The CW.
The director’s previous credits include helming episodes for both Superman & Lois as well as Riverdale. Kreiger has also helmed a few episodes of other Berlanti Productions titles, including You and Prodigal Son.

Kreiger’s involvement with HBO Max’s Green Lantern series comes on the heels of word that AHS vet, Finn Wittrock would be starring as one of two Green Lanterns on the show.
The series is set to span across several decades, and will tell the story of two Green Lanterns on Earth. The first is 1941’s Alan Scott— a FBI agent who also happens to be secretly gay. The other is Wittrock’s Guy Gardner of 1984.
During a presentation at the 2020 TCAs early last year, Berlanti also revealed plans to delve into the Sinestro storyline for the HBO Max Green Lantern series.
Others involved behind the camera include The Lego Batman Movie vet Seth Grahame-Smith serves as showrunner on the series, in addition to co-writing alongside Berlanti and Guggenheim.
HBO Max has yet to announce an official release date for the new series in question.
