First ‘Euphoria’ special episode to be released early on HBO Max

HBO Max is surprising Euphoria fans with early access to the first of the series’s two upcoming special episodes.

UPDATE (12/2/2020): On Wednesday (December 2), HBO Max announced that it would be making the first of Euphoria’s two special episodes available three days earlier than expected.

Those with a subscription to the streaming service will be able to start watching the episode, titled “Trouble Don’t Last,” beginning on Thursday, December 3 at 12:00 a.m., ET/ 9 p.m., PT.

Though the episode will be premiering early via the streaming service, fans who don’t have a subscription need not worry. HBO will still be airing “Trouble Don’t Last” on its originally intended premiere date of Sunday, December 6 at 9 p.m., ET/PT.

Word of the early release for “Trouble Don’t Last” is bound to be cause for excitement to viewers who flipped over the teaser trailer for the special episode, which dropped earlier this week.

Euphoria viewers curious about what happens to Rue in the aftermath of getting left at the train station by Jules will finally get some answers— and they won’t have to wait until next season to find out what happens next!

Back in October, HBO announced that Euphoria would be returning with two brand new special episodes this holiday season.

The first of the two special episodes is titled “Trouble Don’t Last,” and as the trailer for the episode shows, it finds Rue (Emmy Award winner Zendaya) relapsing after being left waiting by Jules (Hunter Schafer). From there, the episode will follow Rue as she celebrates Christmas.

Zendaya and Schafer aren’t the only ones who’ll be appearing in the special. As the trailer teases, Rue ends up calling Ali (Colman Domingo) at some point in the aftermath of what transpires at the train station. The pair can be seen in a diner, with Ali asking why she called him just before the teaser ends.

Still shrouded in mystery is what the second of the two special Euphoria episodes will focus on, but given that the title card in the teaser notes that “Trouble Don’t Last” is Rue’s part 1, perhaps that means that part 2 will show us what happens to Jule after she leaves Rue at the station.

”Trouble Don’t Last” debuts Sunday, December 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max.
