Hayley Atwell has just signed on for her next movie role and it’s bound to make fans of Winnie the Pooh super excited!
Variety reports that Hayley Atwell has officially joined the cast of Disney’s upcoming live action film Christopher Robin.
The film is set to give the live-action treatment everyone’s favorite silly ol’ bear, with a bit of a twist! Instead of focusing solely on Winnie the Pooh’s adventures in the Hundred Acre wood, Christopher Robin is set to tell the story of the little boy Pooh considered one of his very best friends.
Christopher Robin’s all grown up in the upcoming live action series, and he’s lost the imagination that allowed him to dream up tales about the likes of Rabbit, and Piglet, Owl, and more. It’ll be up to his pals from the Hundred Acre Wood to help him find that imagination again, and we’re sure it’ll be quite the emotional journey.
For her part, Atwell will star in the upcoming flick as Christopher Robin’s wife, starring opposite Ewan McGregor, who joined the cast as Christopher Robin himself a few months back.
Though we’re excited to see what Atwell brings to the mix in Christopher Robin, it’s probably not the Hayley Atwell casting news fans of the actress were hoping for this week.
On Monday (July 31), Atwell made waves on social media after Marvel Studios Co-president Louis D’Esposito, who also happens to be the creator and producer of the short-lived Agent Carter, took to Twitter to share a photo of himself and Atwell.
“Look who came by to visit today,” tweeted D’Esposito along with the photo.

Naturally, rumors started swirling regarding whether or not Atwell’s recent visit could mean we might see Peggy Carter pop up in the MCU once more. While that’s very much still a possibility, it’s also more than likely that Atwell stopped by to pay a visit to her friend while meeting with Disney in regards to Christopher Robin.
Either way, we’re looking forward to seeing more of Hayley Atwell on the silver screen, and we’re sure a bunch of you guys are, too!
