Jam City and Warner Brothers have unveiled a big new trailer for the upcoming iOS game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.
The new app is the first in a series of Wizarding World video games in the pipeline from WB’s new Potter gaming group Portkey Games. Hogwarts Mystery is one of two that’ve been announced so far. This one has received a lot of attention because you get to Hogwarts for all seven years!
The new trailer boasts tons of new gameplay footage, depicting the Sorting Hat ceremony, several classes, wand combat, and potions brewing. Bill Weasley, who’s a student during the timeline of this game (the ’80s), makes a couple of cameos in this preview.
For Android users, the Google Play store is now accepting pre-registrations. By signing up you’ll be notified when the game is available for download.
Hypable had the chance to play a bit of Hogwarts Mystery in January. The demo we received was focused on a class with Flitwick. It wasn’t much of a challenge and was more about tapping different areas of the screen. We hope gameplay is a little more advanced in the full version — the trailer certainly makes it look more eventful!
The game will be available on iOS and Android later this year.
