Guy Pearce and Kate Winslet are gearing up to reunite for a brand new limited series coming down the pipeline at HBO.
According to Deadline, Guy Pearce has officially joined the cast of HBO’s Mare of Easttown.
The forthcoming limited series hails from Brad Inglesby and centers on a small-town detective in Pennsylvania named Mare Sheehan, whose life takes a turn when she begins investigating a local murder.
Pearce joins Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, who was previously cast in the role of Mare Sheehan.
The actor’s involvement with the project serves as a bit of a reunion for him and Winslet, who last worked together on HBO’s 2011 mini series Mildred Pierce. Their work on the HBO mini series scored both Winslet and Pearce wins at the 2011 Emmy Awards.

For his part, Guy Pearce is set to take on the role of Richard Ryan. His character is described as being a creative writing professor who’s just in town visiting. Though he once wrote a novel that won the National Book Award over two decades ago, Richard hasn’t done much since to live up to his early pop and circumstance.
Others also set to star in Mare of Easttown include Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Angourie Rice, Evan Peters, Cailee Spaeny, David Denman, John Douglas Thompson, Patrick Murney, James McArdle, Sosie Bacon, John Tippett, and Neal Huff.
Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see Mare of Easttown starring Guy Pearce and Kate Winslet premiere via HBO.
