Marvel has hinted that their plan is to release two superhero movies each year. Next year will be Thor 2 and Iron Man 3, while 2014 will bring us Captain America 2 and their mystery movie Guardians of the Galaxy.
The universe this film takes place in is called “616” and the Guardians of the Galaxy are a team of superheroes that are from the future universe of “691.” They’re fighting an alien race, called the “Badoon,” who are attempting to take over the universe. They eventually create “Korvac,” which we should find out more about soon enough at Comic-Con.
What’s interesting is the Guardians eventually zip back in time to the 21st century to meet up with The Avengers and end up fighting off another alien army together.
So far we have a few clues about the film:
- Guardian’s will be announced at Comic-Con.
- Thanos(purple alien seen at the end of Avengers) will be included in the film.
- It will give us the story that leads up to The Avengers 2 in 2015.
- Apparently the script is “incredible.”
We’ll have some more solid information after Marvel officially reveals the film in the next few weeks at Comic-Con. For now, take a look at what the Guardians look like:
