Season 4 – On April 9, we were finally able to report that Fox has renewed Glee for a 4th season. This announcement came after months of hearing statements made by various executives and cast members about the plans being made for it.

Fox executive Kevin Reilly was quoted at the 2012 Television Critics Association as saying, “There will not be a Glee spinoff, but those characters will graduate and it’s led to a very interesting idea that I think is gonna really give us something cool to dig into next season.” Not long after these statements were made, Lea Michele commented on the plan for season 4 calling it “groundbreaking” and “revolutionary for television.”

Before an official Glee renewal announcement was made, season 2 of the competition show The Glee Project was picked up by Oxygen in January. Filming for the competition show is already underway and expected to air on Oxygen this summer.
