G.I. Joe’s Lady Jaye is officially getting her own series over at Amazon.
According to Deadline, Amazon is currently in the process of developing a live action series which would center on Lady Jaye— an undercover operative from Hasbro’s G.I. Joe universe.
The studio has tapped Erik Oleson to serve as showrunner on the upcoming live action series. Oleson is no stranger to working with the streamer.
Previously, Oleson served as both an executive producer and head writer on Amazon’s The Man In The High Castle. Currently, he acts as both the showrunner and executive producer season 2 of Amazon’s Carnival Row.
Realted: Hasbro’s ‘Clue’ to be adapted into an animated series
Others involved behind the scenes on the Lady Jaye series include Lorenzo DiBonaventura, whose previous credits include serving as a producer on Michael Bay’s Transformers movie franchise.
Though the series is being pegged as a stand alone story centered around Lady Jaye, the plan is for the undercover operative’s journey to also connect to the larger G.I. Joe universe.
Though G.I. Joe first started off as a popular line of Hasbro action figures, the toys have gone on to star in both animated series as well as in movies.
In fact, the last we saw of Lady Jaye was the 2013 sequel to 2009’s live action flick, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
Adrianne Palicki portrayed the undercover operate for the big screen sequel, but there’s currently no word on who will play Lady Jaye in Amazon’s live-action series.
