Check out a new promo for the third season of Game of Thrones, which focuses on the coming war! And there are also some fun character portraits from Entertainment Weekly.
Daenerys opens this trailer by stating, “A man who fights for gold can’t afford to lose to a girl.” Jon, meanwhile, wants to “fight for the side that fights for the living.” And Stannis just wants everyone dead.
Luckily we’ve got good old Robb Stark fighting for justice, right?!
In related news, EW has spoken to executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss about how the dragons will change in season 3.
Benioff teases that, “This is an interesting time for the dragons. When they were born they were adorable. Last season, as you say, they were still kind of cute. But now they’re turning into proper flying dragons.”
He also calls them “weapons of mass destruction,” and we’ll soon learn that as the dragons continue to grow, that will cause problems for the characters around them.
However, to Dany “they’re still cute,” Weiss adds. “They’re her babies. But her babies can burn down a house in a few minutes and they’re getting increasingly terrifying to everyone around her. At some point she will have to reckon with the fact her babies are all grown up.”
Entertainment Weekly, which features Game of Thrones on the cover this week, also has several new character portraits on its website:

It’s great to see some of these characters together, even though the story has them miles apart right now. Jon/Dany fans should especially appreciate this set of pictures!
The new season of Game of Thrones premieres March 31, at 9/8c on HBO.
