The Gibbler house was finally revealed, but what does it tell us about Kimmy and her family?
Fuller House season 3 finally gave fans a taste of something they’ve long wondered about: the Gibbler family house. Attempting a big romantic gesture, Fernando buys Kimmy’s childhood home. He works with Jimmy to recreate everything from the original Gibbler house. They manage to get nearly all the artifacts back and restore the house to its “full Gibbler glory.”
In episode five, Fernando reveals the product of his hard work to Kimmy, the she-wolf pack and their dates. The six of them have a dinner party. Their visit to the Gibbler house reveals some interesting tidbits about Kimmy and her family.

The Doorbell
Before they even enter the Gibbler home, Kimmy and DJ are delighted to see the first artifact from their childhood. Fernando has managed to get the clown doorbell from the original Gibbler house. When DJ rings the doorbell (by pushing the clown’s red nose), it starts to play circus music.
Kimmy and DJ take this opportunity to perform a choreographed dance they used to perform whenever they rang that doorbell as kids. The dance shows the friendship these two women have built over the years. It also lets Full House fans know one important thing about Kimmy Gibbler.
Despite all the jokes about her always being at the Tanner’s house, she had DJ over to her own house plenty of times. How else could they remember that dance so well? For all their eccentricities, it seems that the Gibblers were friendly and welcoming to those they cared about.
Kimmy’s Parents
The dinner party reveals information about Kimmy’s parents as well. Just from the way the Gibbler house is decorated, viewers get a sense of who they are. There are two specific stories that reveal their characters further.
The first concerns the bright orange chairs in the living room. When Kimmy enters the house, she is immediately excited about the chairs. When she sits in one, it makes a loud farting noise. Kimmy is delighted that Fernando was able to find “Dad’s farting chair!” and he is equally excited that he was able to track down her mother’s as well.
This story lets viewers know just what kind of humor the Gibbler parents appreciated. Chairs that make a farting noise every time you sit in them are not for the faint of heart. That sense of humor fits right in with everything else we know about the Gibbler clan.
During this dinner party, we also learn where the Gibbler parents are now. When Matt asks about her parents, Kimmy tells him that they moved out of the house during Y2K and moved into a bunker in the Everglades. They’re still living there today, as far as Kimmy and Jimmy know, because they would be too disappointed to know the world never ended.
This certainly shows the eccentricities of the Gibblers, but it also shows their heart. Kimmy and Jimmy cared about their parents feelings so much, they never let them out of a bunker and told them the world hadn’t ended. Only Gibblers, right?
Time Out
By far the strangest reveal Fuller House showed us with the Gibbler house is the Gibbler version of time out. DJ tells Matt that “the Gibblers had a unique way of disciplining their children.” She’s not wrong.
For a time out in the Gibbler house, the person being punished must put on a special Velcro suit. They then use a spring board to jump and stick themselves to a corresponding part of the wall. Kimmy even mentions that her parents left her up on the wall when they went to Napa one time.
Judging by how excited Kimmy gets about being stuck to the wall once again, the Gibblers treated punishment more like play time. Their methods are a little strange, but that fun-loving attitude is Gibbler through and through.
Easter Eggs
Until Jimmy came along in Fuller House, Kimmy was the only Gibbler viewers ever saw, yet we knew all these wild stories about the whole family. The Gibbler house pays tribute to all the Gibbler antics Full House mentioned. The color-filled walls and large animal statues paint the same picture that all of Kimmy’s stories did over the years. This family is loud and proud.
But there are two very specific Easter eggs hidden in the Gibbler house that fans of the original Full House series will particularly enjoy. The first is a picture of Kimmy with an ostrich. Remember that season 8 episode where Kimmy borrows her uncle’s ostrich so she can torture Uncle Jesse? The picture hanging over the organ in the Gibbler house is from that very episode!
The second Easter egg is even harder to spot. Tucked between the entryway and the organ is a unicycle — presumably the very same unicycle Kimmy rode during Danny’s telethon in season 3 of Full House. In that episode, Kimmy wanted to ride her unicycle on TV during Danny’s telethon, but he wouldn’t let her. Fortunately her mother came through for her and called in a $200 donation in order to make it happen.
So, the Gibblers are pretty weird — and the newly revealed Gibbler house only solidifies the feelings we’ve had about them since Full House — but they’re always there to love and support each other. That’s what has always made Kimmy such a great addition to the Tanner clan.
