Marvel’s standalone Black Widow movie may have just added another cast member to its ranks!
According to Variety, actress Florence Pugh is currently in talks to join Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated solo Black Widow movie.
Pugh’s past credits include a role on AMC’s The Little Drummer Girl, where she starred opposite Alexander Skarsgard, and one in Netflix’s Scottish period drama, Outlaw King, starring Chris Pine.
Coming up next, you’ll be able to catch the English actress starring opposite Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Timothee Chalamet, Meryl Streep, and Laura Dern in Lady Bird helmer Greta Gerwig’s highly anticipated Little Women adaptation.
No further details regarding who Pugh might be playing in Black Widow have been revealed, but it’s being reported that she could be starring as the second lead in the film.
If she signs on, Pugh would join fellow actress Scarlett Johansson, who has long since been attached to reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff in the upcoming solo film.
Behind the scenes, Marvel has tapped Lore helmer Cate Shortland to direct. She’ll be working off a script written by Jac Schaeffer (TiMER, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure).
There’s currently no word on when we can expect the Black Widow movie to hit theaters.
