The promotional campaign for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 kicks off today with a striking poster featuring President Snow in ruins.
In a visual style similar to the one seen with Mockingjay, Part 1 last year, this new poster features a stone version of Snow (played by Donald Sutherland) crumbling to pieces, with the mockingjay symbol graffiti’d in the background:
Here’s the poster from the Mockingjay, Part 1 promotional campaign for reference:
Damn, Lionsgate has had this planned for at least a year, haven’t they?
Another reason we love this new Mockingjay, Part 2 poster is that its colors are bright. The studio could’ve opted for a darker, drearier campaign to match the tone of the story, but these colors juxtapose the dark vibes.
The new poster encourages fans to join the revolution by visiting Revolution.pn (“.pn” for “Panem”) and entering their name and e-mail address. “Dawn is approaching. A new day is on the horizon. Be part of the next generation of Panem. Enlist today,” the website reads. At this time we don’t know why we’re giving Katniss and co. our e-mail address, but hopefully we won’t regret it.
Also today the Capitol’s social media accounts have been taken over by the rebellion. For example, check out the activity on Twitter:
#Unite against the Capitol.

No longer will we sit in silence.

We are not #OnePanem. We are individuals, united against the Capitol! #Unite

Hopefully we’ll be getting a video message from Katniss in the next few weeks like we did from Snow last year:
With a poster now out in the wild (and likely due to hit theaters in the coming weeks), it can’t be long until we get a trailer! Just last week we were wondering why we haven’t seen one by now.
Mockingjay, Part 2 opens in theaters this November.
