Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury, a book that (further) reveals the craziness happening within the Donald Trump White House, has sold its television rights.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Endeavor Content has purchased the rights and plans to turn it into a TV series. Wolff will be an executive producer on the series.
A television network has yet to acquire the distribution rights, but one could assume that this would do very well on HBO, Netflix, or any of the other streaming services. Fox and Fox News will probably not be interested in trying to air it themselves, and whoever airs Fire and Fury may lose some ardent Donald Trump supporters.
The book was published on January 5 and since then has been at the top of bestseller lists around the globe. The world became fascinated by the book after bombshell excerpts leaked in advance, and the White House tried to stop Fire and Fury from being published. Chief among them were comments from former Trump advisor Steve Bannon, who spoke poorly of Trump Jr. and accused him of treason.
Presumably Endeavor will try to get the Fire and Fury TV show written and shot as quickly as possible so they can strike while the iron is hot.
We can’t wait to see who they cast. Maybe Saturday Night Live can help ’em out a bit.
