Netflix released the final trailer for their new horror flick, Apostle, and we might not be fully prepared for the mayhem in store for us.
Netflix has a lot of great new and old horror coming our way in the month of October. One of their newest flicks, Apostle, looks like it will be one horror movie that every viewer looking for a spookier Halloween season just can’t miss. In the final trailer for the new movie, we get our final glimpse into the scares, gore, and terror awaiting us in this exciting new movie.
Apostle is set in 1905 and tells the story of a young man named Thomas Richardson whose sister is kidnapped by a religious cult. When the cult reaches out to Thomas and promises they will release his sister upon payment of a ransom, Thomas is thrust into the complicated, corrupt, and cruel world of this cult. However, Thomas isn’t about to let himself or his sister get swallowed up by the community so easily, and this cult will have a fight on their hands like they didn’t ever think possible.
And while the concept of Apostle is pretty classic Halloween horror fodder–missing family member, a creepy cult, what appears to be a hearty amount of gore onscreen, and some good, old-fashioned, old-school horror vibes — it’s the cast that has also got us incredibly excited for this movie. Dan Stevens is playing the film’s lead, Thomas Richardson and the cult’s leader is being played by the incomparable Michael Sheen.
A lot of the initial reviews for Apostle are extremely positive, and this final trailer has got us ready (and a bit scared) to see what secrets we uncover when we travel to the island with Thomas when Apostle premieres on Netflix. The movie will release on the streaming service on October 12.
