Warner Bros., and Plan B’s Father of the Bride reboot has found its father-daughter duo in Adria Arjona and Andy Garcia.
According to Deadline, Adria Arjona is the latest star to join the cast of the upcoming Father of the Bride reboot coming down the pipeline at Warner Bros., and Plan B.
The Pacific Rim: Uprising vet will take on the role of the bride to be in the reboot, playing opposite Garcia, who will take on the role of a father forced to come to grips with his daughter’s impending nuptials.
The forthcoming iteration marks the third time the story has been adapted for the big screen. Previous Father of the Bride iterations include a movie released in 1950 starring Spencer Tracy. Meanwhile, the 90s gave birth to two Father of the Bride movies, starring Steve Martin.
Warner Bros., and Plan B are looking to put a twist on the tale by centering the story on a big, Cuban American family. The story of the father daughter duo will also be told through the eyes of multiple different familial relationships.
Behind the camera, the studios have tapped Club de Cuervos vet Gaz Alazraki to serve as director. Meanwhile, Matt Lopez will pen the script.
Producers on the project include Plan B’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.
Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see the Father of the Bride remake hit the big screen.
Coming up next for Adria Arjona, the actress is also gearing up to star opposite Diego Luna in the highly anticipated Star Wars Rogue One spinoff series at Disney+.
