Come along with us as we get to know who the Eye Candy cast is through social media.
Since the premise of MTV’s new crime drama centers around social media and how much we upload ourselves to the world, we thought it might be fun to take a look at the cast’s online profiles and try to figure out what their accounts say about them.
Victoria Justice
Ironically, Victoria Justice is without a doubt the Eye Candy cast member who’s the most active on social media. From adorable posts on Instagram, live tweeting on Twitter, hour-long livestreams on YouTube, to Facebook Q&A sessions, she’s fully tapped into the power of social media. It’s important to note, though, that this isn’t some new superficial investment that sprung up over night.
If you were to only look at things at a distance, you may find it a little suspicious that the lead actor of a show with heavy themes regarding social media and online behavior is so fully adsorbed in the same world, but we can guarantee you that Justice’s investment in these online platforms long predates her connection to the new show. So, fear not. This isn’t just a marketing ploy to hack into the system. Justice seems to really understand the medium and how it works, making thoughtful efforts to reach out to her fans. And although sometimes her posts can be a little market-y, on the whole you can see she’s just trying to take the outside world on this crazy ride with her.

Harvey Guillen
Probably the second most active social media cast member, and our personal favorite, is Harvey Guillen. If you only want to follow one person from the entire show, we highly recommend this be your choice. Why is that? Well, let us present to you with exhibits A, B, and C.
Please immediately stop with your badass adorable self.
Also, if you’re the type who likes behind the scenes photos from set, or really just New York in general, Guillen will hook. you. up. He’s kind of fantastic at Twitter as well. Look at how much fun he had while logged into the Eye Candy Twitter. Basically, Guillen gets it. He gets that social media is a place to have fun and be yourself first and promote projects second. Follow this boy immediately.

Kiersey Clemons
Let’s call Kiersey the edgiest of all the Eye Candy crew. Which is probably why we love her so much, let’s be real. There’s something to be said for her no filter attitude. In a world where actors, especially young ones, carefully craft their entire persona, Kiersey has more of a live and let live outlook. Something that we can truly appreciate. Though, just to be safe, we’re going to give her social media platforms an R rating – to protect the kiddos out there. But if you’re of age, you probably want to tune into this actress sooner rather than later. Because we have a strong feeling her star is about to take off.

Casey Jon Deidrick
There’s not a whole lot to say about Casey Jon Deidrick’s Twitter account except that he’s really, really, really cute. He clearly has no concept of Internet culture and isn’t too social media savvy, but that’s what is so darn adorable about the whole thing! He’s just a dude. Posting things occasionally. Chances are MTV was probably like, “You need to get on that more.” And he was like, “Ok, here’s a picture of my watch. You’re welcome.”
Yes, sir. Very welcome indeed.

John Garet Stoker
John Garet Stoker is probably our biggest mystery man because there seems to be very little social media he participates in. Now, of course, the medium isn’t for everyone. There should be a hard and fast rule in Hollywood that if you’re only going to use Internet platforms to promote, then you shouldn’t have an account at all. It’s called SOCIAL media for a reason. It’s a method of reaching out and being social. But if a person isn’t into that sort of thing, then we can totally respect that, too.
He only has 101 tweets to speak of, so there’s not a lot to analyze there. (Though you can detect potential.) But Instagram seems to be his platform of choice. Although he mostly shares scenic views and selfies, Stoker has been posting since 2012, so there’s no way he opened the account for promotion alone.

BONUS – Christian Taylor
If you don’t already know, Christian Taylor is the Executive Producer of Eye Candy and someone you probably want to follow if you get into Eye Candy at all. Although it’s pretty obvious that he has joined social media to help create buzz for the show, hopefully he’ll provide some behind-the-scenes info that we otherwise would have missed out on.
