It’s Mack’s turn in the hot seat in this exclusive clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 6×09.
Last week’s propulsive episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., “Collision Course (Part I)” left fans dangling from an apocalypse-sized cliffhanger.
Sarge left May, Daisy, Snowflake, and Deke on a bomb-rigged truck hurtling inescapably toward a tower of shrike-spikes, while he portaled up to meet Pax and Jaco on the Zephyr. Meanwhile, Fitz and Simmons descend to Earth in Izel’s unresponsive ship, the very target that Sarge seeks to obliterate.
The story continues in this exclusive clip from “Collision Course (Part II)”, as Sarge enacts the second stage of his plan to “save the world.” Unfortunately, this means more mortal peril for the S.H.I.E.L.D. team onboard, with the embattled Mack forced to make another awful choice.
Taking control of the Zephyr, Sarge makes sure to covers all his bases in this Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 6×09 clip. Agent Diaz is bleeding on the floor, and Sarge makes sure to activate an ominous red force field as a contingency against Elena’s powers. (Not sure what that thing does, and am absolutely not at all interested in finding out.)
Despite the rapid descent into chaos, Sarge declares that Mack should “be thankful” for his intervention. “In a few moments the threat to your planet will be vaporized and we’ll be flying away, sitting pretty,” he says.
(…yeah, right.)
Sarge handcuffs Mack to the railing and charges him to follow his orders and turn the ship around, presumably away from the planned blast radius. Otherwise, Agent Diaz will die — and if we know anything about Sarge, that’s certain to be just the beginning of his Machiavellian contingencies.
Will Mack cave to Sarge’s demands? Can May, Daisy, and Deke disarm Sarge’s bomb without blowing themselves to hell? Will Elena try and run through that force field? Will Fitz and Simmons realize that their ride home may also be the progenitor of Earth’s destruction?

And can we get a little more information on who the real bad guy is?
Knowing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., “Collision Course (Part II)” will answer most of those questions — and leave us with more in their place!
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 6×09, “Collision Course (Part II)” airs Friday, July 12 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
