We can add Evan Peters to the list of stars returning for X-Men: Dark Phoenix. There was concern that the speedster would sit out the next film, but now we can put those fears to rest once and for all.
The Hollywood Reporter has the exclusive, sharing that the fan favorite character will be around for the next film. Not much else is known, as details are being kept under wraps for the time being, but Quicksilver fans can breathe easy.
For those keeping score, that means that you can add Evan Peters to the cast list that also features James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, who have comprised the principal cast since X-Men: First Class hit theaters in 2011. We also know that Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee will also be returning, after making their first X-Men appearances in last year’s X-Men: Apocalypse as Jean Grey, Scott Summers (Cyclops), Ororo Munroe (Storm), and Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler) respectively.
We also learned that Lamar Johnson, star of The Next Step in Canada, will be appearing in the film, but details of his role are being kept close to the vest. Maybe we’ll learn more at San Diego Comic Con in a few weeks? (We’ll keep our fingers crossed.)
We recently reported that Simon Kinberg is set to make his directorial debut with the movie, and that Jessica Chastain is in talks to play its villain, Shi’ar Empress Lilandra.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters November 2, 2018.
