Euphoria season 2 is officially happening, and we’re keeping track of all the upcoming details for the new season right here.
About mid-way through season 1, Euphoria was renewed for a second season. This should come as no surprise to anyone who has watched the show. Not only is it telling a rich story about teenagers, addiction, and mental illness, it’s also led by the incredible Zendaya.
Euphoria may have gotten the world’s attention thanks to its shocking visuals, but some of the best parts of the show are its tamest. Not only that, but its message about identity is for teens and adults alike.
If you’re all caught up, you’ll know that the Euphoria season 1 finale was full of the highest of highs and lowest of lows. It really showcased how important every decision can be, and several of our characters’ lives will be changing forever as we move forward.
Speaking of Euphoria season 2, I have no doubt in my mind that it’ll be as good as the freshman season. Here’s everything we know about its sophomore outing so far.
‘Euphoria’ season 2 release date
While the renewal news didn’t come with a Euphoria season 2 release date, we can make an educated guess as to when next season may premiere.
Season 1 hit HBO on June 16, 2019. It’s likely that season 2 will air in June 2020 unless there are any delays in production. While this is definitely a possibility given Zendaya’s current popularity, it’s just as likely that she’ll make herself available when it’s time to film season 2.
Once an official Euphoria season 2 release date is announced, we’ll update this section!
‘Euphoria’ season 2 trailer
Unfortunately, we don’t have a Euphoria season 2 trailer just yet. Ahead of the season 1 premiere, HBO did a pretty good job of advertising the series, especially ahead of Game of Thrones. While season 2 won’t have the power of GoT behind it, Euphoria has garnered its own fanbase that will be eagerly awaiting season 2.
When a trailer drops, we’ll add it here! Until then, check out Zendaya and Hunter Schafer discuss the season 1 finale.

‘Euphoria’ season 2 plot wishlist
There’s a lot to ask for from a Euphoria season 2 plot wishlist. First and foremost, everyone is asking what’s going to happen to Rue. After giving way to her addiction once more in the final moments of the episode, fans have a right to be worried. That’s not even to mention that Jules hopped on a train without her and left town.
There are a lot of other characters to love (and hate) on Euphoria, too. Will Maddy and Nate stay together? Will she stand up for herself and will he learn to control his anger? Cassie and McKay aren’t in a good place right now, either, but we didn’t exactly get a breakup scene by the end of season 1.
Adorably, Kat and Ethan are taking the next step forward in their relationship, but given everything Kat has been up to this season, there’s a lot for them to navigate as a couple. Lexi and Fez are both on the precipice of something new as well, and it really could go in either direction for them.
I’d also like to see Euphoria go further when it comes to showing us what’s going on inside Rue’s head. The Officer Bennett scene was one of the best of the season, and seeing exactly how Rue is tripping when she takes drugs (that musical number!) helps us really step into her shoes.
Euphoria season 2 is bound to be bigger and better than its predecessor, and I can only hope all our favorite characters make it through in one piece.
