Two more familiar faces have just joined ABC’s upcoming Rosanne revival.
Entertainment Weekly reports that actresses Estelle Parsons and Sandra Bernhard have officially signed on to appear in the upcoming revival of popular ’90s sitcom Rosanne.
Both Parsons and Bernhard had memorable supporting roles in the series when it originally ran from the years 1988 through 1997.
Parsons played Rosanne’s mom, Beverly Harris, who had a penchant for being overly critical both toward Rosanne (Rosanne Bar) and sister Jackie (Laurie Metcalfe), and toward her grandchildren. Bev also had a significant story arc after she came out as a lesbian toward the end of the series following her husband Al’s death.
Meanwhile, Bernhard played Nancy Bartlett, who was originally introduced as a wife of one of Dan’s poker buddies. Later, Bartlett plays a significant role in helping Rosanne, Jackie and Bev open Landford Lunchbox Restaurant, and similar to Bev, comes out as a lesbian after breaking things off with her husband, Arnie.
Parsons and Bernhard aren’t the only former cast members who were recently announced for the Roseanne revival.
Just last week, we learned that Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki would officially be coming back to reprise his role as Darlene’s (Sara Gilbert) high school sweetheart, David.
Galecki’s involvement on the revival was revealed by producer Whitney Cummings, who sent out a SnapChat of the actor’s official chair on the set of the series, which is currently in the midst of filming.
We’re sure fans of the original Roseanne are itching to find out what the entire gang is up to — especially now that a few more familiar faces have officially been added to the cast.
Though ABC has yet to announce an official airdate for the revival, new episodes of Roseanne are expected to hit the airwaves sometime in 2018.
