The Crown’s breakout star, Emma Corrin, seems to have landed on her next starring role.
According to Deadline, actress Emma Corrin is currently in negotiations to star in the upcoming adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover.
The upcoming adaptation coming down the pipeline at 3000 Pictures is based off of the classic D.H. Lawrence novel of the same name.
Lawrence’s classic work tells the story of the titular Lady Chatterley— a woman of wealth, privilege, and status, who ends up marrying a man that she falls out of love with. Instead, Lady Chatterley finds love in a gamekeeper who works on their English estate, and soon becomes entangled in a torrid affair that eventually leads to newfound love.
Behind the camera, the forthcoming adaptation already has a director attached in The Mustang vet, Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre. Meanwhile, David Magee (who previously adapted Life of Pi for the big screen) will write the screenplay for the adaptation.
As for Emma Corrin, the actress has kicked off 2021 with a bang. Corrin recently scored a huge win at the Golden Globes for her portrayal of Princess Diana in Netflix’s The Crown.
The Crown aside, it was also announced just last month that she’ll soon be starring opposite Harry Styles in Amazon Studios’ adaptation of My Policeman.
Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see Lady Chatterley’s Lover hit the big screen.
