The first pieces of groundwork begin to fall in place on tonight’s Elementary episode, “Under My Skin.” With Alfredo’s return comes the first look at the trouble viewers can expect to play into the season 3 finale.

Holmes and Watson were faced with a machine that took in information and did nothing with it. Much like the episode, everything that went into it came out on the other end completely in tact with no changes. A woman who believes her house is haunted, turns out to be the victim of a greedy former Wall Street trader who lost everything after an FCC investigation. With his assets tied up in a blind account, he located a transatlantic cable running under the woman in question’s house and attempted to intercept the information to feed it to his account runner four milliseconds faster than competitors would receive it.

Sherlock fishes for information in quite a few places as he attempts to track down a kidnapped woman and figure out why he is suddenly being tailed. Luckily, Joan and Detective Bell are on hand to help with the manhunt leaving Sherlock to handle the unsettling developments in Alfredo’s life. Holmes finds himself a bit out of his element when it comes to seeing Alfredo in crisis and refusing to let him in to help. It’s almost as if he is looking in a mirror…
