Drew Barrymore could be gearing up to make a splash in the world of daytime talk shows.
Drew Barrymore may best be known for her acting abilities, but it sounds as though the Santa Clarita Diet star may be gearing up to try her hand at something new.
So what’s next for Drew? It sounds like she could be the next big star to make a splash in the realm of daytime talk shows.
News that Barrymore is gearing up to host her very own daytime talk show comes from Variety, who reports that the actress is currently in the process of filming the pilot for the new show in question this week.
The show is currently without a title, but the outlet states that Barrymore is shooting it in New York and that it’s being shot for CBS Television distribution.
In addition to hosting the hour long program, Barrymore is also said to be producing via her Flower Films production company.
Currently, there’s no official statement confirming or denying the news from Barrymore’s camp or from CBS Television Distribution. That being said, if the talk show makes it to air it would certainly be an interesting move for Barrymore herself.
Talkshows aside, Barrymore has been a fairly active player behind the camera over the past few years, serving as producer on series like Tough Love and Rattled, and in movies like this September’s Charlie’s Angeles reboot.
On the acting front, Barrymore was last seen in the recently canceled Netflix dark comedy Santa Clarita Diet. Coming up next, she’ll be starring opposite Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Ellie Kemper in the 2020 comedy, The Stand-In.
There’s currently no word on when or if Barrymore’s daytime talk show will make its way to CBS.
