Kayley Cuoco’s next series starring role will find the actress stepping into the role of Doris Day.
According to Variety, a limited series about famed Hollywood icon, Doris Day, is officially in the works— and the series has already found its Doris in none other than Kayley Cuoco.
The limited series is set to take its cues from author A.E. Hotchner’s 1976 book, Doris Day: Her Own Story. While it’s classified as a biography, Hotchner’s books is based on a series of interviews conducted with the actress, and so is considered to be her autobiography.
It will tell the story of Day’s life, chronicling her big break in show business, and her incredible career starring in a slew of beloved movies ranging from musicals to thrillers.

Producers on the project include Cuoco, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden. Meanwhile, Susan McCormack and Doris Day Estate trustee, Bob Bashara, will serve as co-executive producers on the project.
Other involved include Jim Pierson, who worked with day, as well as A.E. Hotchner’s son, Tim Hotchner, both of whom will serve as consulting producers the Doris Day limited series.
Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see Kayley Cuoco star as Doris Day in the forthcoming limited series. Also unclear is where the series will air, as the show has yet to find a network to call home.
