We may have to wait a few more months for the new season of Doctor Who, but the BBC just released a new logo and poster to help pass the time.
The Doctor’s 13th regeneration has been a monumental one for BBC’s science fiction staple, Doctor Who. For the first time since the show first aired back in the sixties, the Doctor has regenerated into a woman, played by Jodie Whittaker.

It’s a big step forward for the series, and Whittaker’s first season is being seen as sort of a fresh start to the series, not only with a new Doctor piloting the TARDIS, but also with longtime showrunner Steven Moffat officially stepping down to be replaced by Chris Chibnall.
So it only makes sense that the BBC would celebrate this “new era” with a bit of an updated logo. The new logo was released in a fun new “teaser” of sorts. Though the teaser gave us absolutely zero footage of Whittaker, it’s still exciting to see the slick, modern look that the Doctor Who logo has gotten.
Of course, no Doctor Who marketing would be complete without at least a glimpse of the Doctor and her TARDIS, right? The BBC knew that fans simply wouldn’t abide at least a brief glimpse at the 13th Doctor, and released a new poster to go with their slick, new logo.
Much like the logo, the new poster is pretty streamlined, opting for a silhouette of the Doctor with the TARDIS illuminated in the background. However, it does a great job evoking the sense of adventure that Whovians love about Doctor Who.
We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us as Jodie Whittaker takes over the TARDIS. This is an exciting, new era for Doctor Who, and just like the Doctor herself, we think it’s brilliant.
